Minimum Service Standards for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Kenya: Job Aid Booklet

This document is a job aid for improving the quality of services for orphans and vulnerable children at the community level. It explains the guiding principles of the quality service standards, which include identifying the needs of the OVC and their households and provision of appropriate services on an ongoing basis, ensuring participation and involvement for OVC, households and communities in care and support activities, and monitoring and evaluation of program interventions to check whether they make a difference in the lives of the OVC and their households. The dimensions of quality are the ten points that will help make sure services do not make the lives of the OVC and households worse ogg than they were before. This job booklet also explains the roles and responsibilities of community volunteers and the eight core service areas and their desired outcomes.
