With lower HIV prevalence rates in West and Central Africa, efforts to reach children have been less than in other regions.  However, the West and Central Africa region has one of the world’s highest HIV burdens among children and adolescents, second only to that of Eastern and Southern Africa.  This report from UNICEF, full of epidemiological data and statistics about prevention, testing, treatment and care for children raises the urgency of reaching this demographic.  The document contextualizes the strategic direction for programming to reach children and adolescents in the region.
