The Adolescent Treatment Literacy Guide was developed to help adolescents understand HIV, antiretroviral (ARV) regimens, and the importance of adherence to HIV care and treatment. The guide also aims to help adolescents understand the importance of taking control of their lives, set life goals, and achieve their full potential alongside management of this chronic condition.

The Adolescent Treatment Literacy Guide includes six modules divided into smaller sessions that can be delivered one-on-one or in a group setting.  The sessions should be led by a trained health provider or peer educator and include activities, practical exercises and accompanying flipchart.
