February 1, 2019
Organization: Kenyan Ministry of Health

These Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) seek to enhance the capacity of health care providers and health management teams to respond to and support child survivors of sexual violence.  Building on both national and international sexual and gender-based violence SOPs, the document provides a standardized, user-friendly guide on how to apply child-centered approaches for the effective management and support of child survivors of sexual violence; and describes clear procedures, roles and responsibilities for all health care providers.  It provides concise detail on the sequence of steps to follow to ensure the appropriate clinical response that a child survivor of sexual violence should receive at each point on the continuum of comprehensive care within the health facility.
