This fact sheet provides a summary of PEPFAR’s progress in controlling the epidemic in several key African countries. This publication for World AIDS Day 2016 includes statistics related to OVC, including: PEPFAR is supporting critical care and support for nearly 6.2 million orphans and vulnerable children to mitigate the physical, emotional, and economic impact of HIV/AIDS on children. PEPFAR reached more than 1 million adolescent girls and young women with critical comprehensive HIV prevention interventions through the DREAMS Partnership.
