Using a convenience sample of caregivers of children living with HIV/AIDS at treatment clinic in India, this study assessed the psychological distress of these caregivers and found that relationship with child, alcohol use, and schooling of children were reported as significant predictors of psychological distress. Study concludes that caregiver burden and psychological distress were high among caregivers and that treatment of children needs to include the psychosocial needs of the caregivers.
