The HIV/AIDS pandemic has had serious impacts on families, especially children. This handbook was created to supplement and reinforce OVC training programs in Africa. The aim of this handbook is to help parents, caregivers and teachers understand the behaviors and feelings of children who are caring for an ill parent or who have lost a parent. Included are strategies for supporting children and strengthening their coping skills through a collection of theories, exercises and discussions.
