This tools for care workers provides a step-by-step process to ethical decision making that allows for discussions on how decisions can be influenced by our environment, personal bias and judgement. These steps consider facts and ethical principles, as well as alternative approaches to difficult situations when caring for children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. This tool does not help with common service delivery, but approaches to ethical dilemmas to identify and minimize harm and stigma in service delivery. Program implementers and practitioners working with children and families affected by HIV should consider this tool in their service delivery.
