April 3, 2017
Organization: East Africa Community

The East African Community (EAC) is comprised of the five partner states of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania.  The Child Policy, released in 2016, is intended to standardize child wellbeing policy and sharing across the member states.  The policy document includes situational analysis of each member state and international and regional legal frameworks that apply in the formation of national policy.  The document includes priority areas and policy statements as well as definitions of roles and responsibilities for policy related to child wellbeing in the EAC states.
