This report, created by HelpAge International and the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, is based on evidence from experiences of policymakers and other actors to provide an overview of the issues in tackling the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It is driven by considering the importance of the older caregiver’s role in supporting orphans and vulnerable children and recognizing the importance of this relationship – both socially and economically – in combating poverty and HIV/AIDS.
