Sub-Saharan Africa has exponentially scaled up implementation of cash transfer programs.  This important review documents the evidence base on cash transfers in the region and reflects on the development of social protection policies in eight countries across sub-Saharan Africa.  Chapter six looks specifically at social protection programs in OVC programs and the catalyst for cash transfers in Kenya.
