September 1, 2009
Organization: Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Nigeria

“Nigeria is home to a notably high number of orphans and vulnerable children as a result of AIDS, road accidents, maternal mortality, ethno-religious conflicts, poverty, and gender inequality. The country has made significant strides toward improving services for OVC. Among these is the Monitoring and Evaluation Plan for OVC Response presented here.
This plan lays out a roadmap for implementation, including roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, data collection strategies, guidance for data analysis and reporting, and process evaluation. The implementation of this plan will contribute to Nigeria’s objectives to strengthen the social services system for OVC and improve coordination among partners.”
