Social Cash Transfer Schemes are known to improve health benefits, food security and school enrollment of beneficiaries. This paper – compiled by the Institute for Policy Research & Social Empowerment (IPRSE) – studies challenges of the Malawi Social Cash Transfer Scheme and successful solutions to these challenges. The aim of this research is to build evidence on the scheme’s performance. Included are recommendations to improve efficiency, sustainability and ownership of cash transfer programs.
