This document is designed for primary health providers and includes technical considerations on the appropriate care of children and adolescents who have experienced sexual violence or exploitation. These technical considerations are based on evidence-based practices and emphasize clinical management of sexually abused or exploited children while encouraging communities to develop comprehensive social service support for these children. This document was created to inform implementers and partners of PEPFAR programs in the clinical care of children living with HIV/AIDS, including prevention, care and treatment through the strengthening of community-based interventions.
