On 14 February, the first-ever Solutions Summit will begin in Stockholm, Sweden. Over 300 delegates from across the world, including government ministers, senior UN officials, civil society leaders, private sector chief executives, academics and children themselves, will convene to design and share bold solutions for preventing and responding to violence against boys and girls.
The event will be hosted by the Government of Sweden in close cooperation with the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children and WePROTECT Global Alliance, with the support and collaboration of the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, as well as relevant UN agencies, NGOs and private sector actors.
The objectives are to:
- Raise awareness about children’s protection from violence (SDG 16.2 and related targets) while increasing commitments to act.
- Showcase solutions from around the world, enabling technical discussions applying the INSPIRE framework and the Model National Response.
- Celebrate pathfinding countries’ success and encourage new partners to join the global movement to end violence against children.
